I’m curious how mud gets sanitized for spa use (mud facials and mud baths). Do they use chemicals or what?
I wasn’t too sure where to post this, but - A family member has offered to give us an 8′X8′ spa with “duraban”, which needs a minor electrical repair. Are these tedious to maintain, is keeping the chemicals in tune a headache? Are there certain things I should look for that would be a sign of costs to come? Any experiences with spa/hot tub ownership would be appreciated…
When you find yourself feeling jaded and want an uplifting and rejuvenating experience then a retreat to a medical day spa may be just the thing you are in need of. Medical day spas are becoming incresingly popular and there are many more complex treatments to help you feel and look younger that you may not find at your every day spa. Medical peels, botox injections and photo facials are all treatments that you can consider having. If you have medical records to hand you may have to produced them at the initial consultation so dont forget them. Some spas may ask for an initial consultation before you book the treatment.
There are two very popular treatments that can be found at a medical day spa:
Botox injections: A much used treatment initially by celebrities but now is far more popular with the general public. Botox treatments are common place all over the country and is a treatment offered by most medical day spas. A single botox treatment can make a huge difference to the apperance of your skin. Although botox gives wonderful results it is not permanent. The effects will last for about four months an then the procedure needs to be repeated. Before you start you may want to think about you budget especially for repeat visits. Do not go anywhere other than a respectable medical day spa with a proven track record to have this treatment done…here’s why…
Botox is a trade name and not the name of the substance that is injected. botox is derived from the botulinum toxin which is a neurotoxin protein. Botox, when used in minute amounts causes the facial muscle to paralyse preventing it from contracting, that is how the wrinkles then are not so visible. Botox will not eradicate damage through sun. Before you start a Botox treatment you must talk to a medical professional so you are fully aware of any side effects.
Medical peels and microdermabrasion: Medical microdermabrasion is a non surgical method of rejuvenation without the use of lasers and chemicals and is a modern treatment that is virtually painless and can be used in conjuction with other treatments.
If you are someone who suffers from blemishes, sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles or problem skin then peels or microdermabrasion could be the treatment for you. You will find these treatments easily inmany medical day spas.
If you elect to have a medical peel treatment then the top most layer is removed so you may experience a burning sensation … this means it is workin. There are three choices of chemicals that can be used, in order of strength, mild are alphahydroxy acids (AHA’s), medium are trichloracetic acids (TCA’s) and strongest are phenols. The result is a smoother, younger looking skin. The consultant should be able to assess whether a medical peel is a suitable treatment for you.
Many medical day spas in the country offer these two methods of treatment. Booking an appointment is easy but bear in mind, as mentioned earlier, they will want to assess you first to make sure you are getting the best treatment for you.
So…if you want to relax and unwind and take the spa experience one step further then a visit to a medical day spa is definitely worth consideration. You could have a new lease of life!
If you’re thinking about pampering yourself a little and going to a spa, consider expanding your visit a little and going to a medical spa for a facial treatment like a peel or botox. Many spas offer the traditional day spa amenities, and also offer medical facial services. You might enjoy turning the pampering up a little bit, getting a health boost from regular spa treatments, and leaving with a younger-looking face.
A medical day spa differs from a traditional day spa in that it also offers medical facial treatments, which many day spas do not offer. These services are performed by trained and licensed personnel, and are intended as an addition to the treatments you would expect at any day spa.
While you’re at the spa, you can expect a great massage, as well as, at many spas, a body scrub and shower, manicure, and spray tan. You’ll get deluxe pampering and have a chance to be the one being taken care of, for a change, rather than the one taking care of others.
While you’re at the spa, you may choose to have a Botox injection, to smooth out wrinkles and give your face a younger appearance. Botox is the trade name for a substance derived from the botulinium toxin. Tiny amounts of Botox paralyze the muscles that cause your skin to appear wrinkled. Botox, of course, should be administered by trained personnel, which is why a visit to a good medical spa is recommended.
Botox injections last about four months, and you can expect your skin to appear much smoother and younger-looking. While it won’t erase sun damage, Botox can make you look years younger.
If you have blemishes, sun damage, or fine lines and wrinkles, you might want to consider a skin peel or microdermabrasion. Most medical spas offer these two treatments, and they can greatly improve the look of your skin.
Medical peels remove the top layer of the skin, and can use any of three chemicals. The technician will help you decide what treatment you need. You may feel a slight burning sensation during the treatment, which will subside quickly. After the peel, your skin will look smoother and younger.
You may prefer microdermabrasion, which rejuvenates your skin without the use of chemicals and lasers; many spas offer this service as well as peels and Botox.
Before you visit a medical spa for treatment, consider scheduling a consultation to determine what treatments are best for your situation and schedule your treatments.
If you feel uncomfortable with the way your skin looks, a medical spa can make it look younger and smoother. You’ll leave not only looking better, but also feeling better, after the other spa treatments you receive.
Check out the medical spas in your area and schedule a day of rejuvenation and treatment today. You will be amazed how much better you feel, and when you see the results of your medical facial, you’ll be thrilled with your brand new face.
I have a hot tub and I currently use the bromine, etc. IS there a natural spa system for cleaning the spa that doesn’t have all the harsh chemicals?
which one does Kevin Trudeau suggest?
I tried one but it didn’t get the spa clean at all. I can’t remember but it was yellow and fit inside the filter..
While New York City as a major fashion and entertainment capital has always had significant spa services offerings, they were previously limited to traditional spa treatments like facials, massage and waxing. Today however, medical spa services, which combine cosmetic medicine procedures with the experience of an aesthetic day spa, are increasingly accessible and popular. The latest medical spa services include laser hair removal, veins removal, wrinkles treatment, chemical peels and more are all the rage, and New York City certainly has no shortage of these medical spa services.
In fact, the availability of medical spa services is so well recognized and sought after that major New York City publications regularly rank the best of the best in terms of quality and variety of medical spa services, prices, customer environment and overall experience.
Increasingly New York City’s medical spa services are combining both medical and non-medical treatments at the same facility, so that you can get quick, popular medical spa services like Botox or collagen in the same set of appointments as your usual manicure or pedicure. Centers specializing in medical spa services for cosmetic dentistry, such as tooth whitening, are also springing up.
Medical spas are defined as such, not just because they offer treatments that are medical in nature, but because a doctor is on-site to supervise and administer services as appropriate. This allows for the highest standard of care in aesthetic procedures, which while increasingly commonplace can carry some risks. It also allows you to get medical input into what medical spa services will give you the results you’re looking for in smoother, younger, firmer and healthier skin.
Medical spa services generally require some recovery time, but of course allow you to go home promptly after treatment. However, injectibles, microdermabrasion and chemical and fruit acid peels can all result in temporary redness, swelling and tenderness, so it’s important to remember that these spa treatments should be done appropriately in advance of a special occasion and scheduled so that you can go home and relax as you wait for their amazing results to take effect.
While much of the emphasis on medical spa services is on the face, medical spa services in New York City address the whole body. One of the most popular medical spa services is laser hair removal as a more effective, long-term and less painful alternative to waxing or electrolysis or hair removal on any part of the body. Laser hair removal treatment requires a series of appointments (usually six, but it can vary) to reach the full level of efficacy.
Other body treatments available at New York City medical spas include non-surgical cellulite reduction treatments such as Velashape. These non-surgical cellulite reduction procedures generally utilize massage as well as heat, radio waves and massage to break up cellulite and improve the appearance of areas affected by it. Like many medical spa services, some discomfort is common but recovery is easy.
Other medical spa services available in New York City include focus on other common problems that can cause discomfort both aesthetic and physical such as spider and varicose veins, podiatry concerns and even treatments for excess sweating. Additionally, many of New York City’s medical spas offer products for take-home use that maintain or continue the work done in the medical spa setting.
While spa services in general were once considered largely the domain of women, medical spa services are targeted to and used by both genders. Many medical spas offer couples treatment services or specifically target the needs of one gender or the other. Without a doubt, if you are interested in medical spa services, New York City has offerings that will address your particular needs.
